Hat tip, Arabella.
Because misery loves company.
The best thing to do with anxiety is to turn it into art. I’ve heard more than one artist say that the rent on their studio is cheaper than a psychiatrist. - Michael Lipsey
too bad boozing is easier (and cheaper, depending on what you’re drinking or where you’re getting your art supplies.)
Actually, I have a shit ton of clothes. I also think meat is delicious.
I suppose that’s where Morrissey and I are different.
…but I don’t feel like it.
VOTD: London Grammar- ‘Nightcall’
There’s nothing I love more than a great cover. My newest obsession? London Grammar’s ‘Nightcall’. The bands latest single of their debut album If You Wait is a cover of a song by French producer Kavinsky and was originally released as part of the Drive soundtrack a few years back. The British trio was able to turn a synth-pop tune into a hauntingly beautiful ballad, making ‘Nightcall’ something entirely their own.
The video, which was released last week, is the perfect accompaniment to the song: it’s powerful, captivating, and slightly sinister. London Grammar takes us to a desolate field, where we can’t felt but feel vulnerable. The eerie piano intro begins as the camera moves through a series of still images, all of which are spooky but enchanting. If you’re like me and are absolutely obsessed with the ‘Nightcall’ video and London Grammar in general, not fear, there’s new stuff coming your way. Be sure to check out London Grammar’s EP Nightcall, which will be released with a re-edit of the title track on December 8th .
